I enjoyed the book. As a white baptized (but not practicing) male, I am embarrassed by how our First Nations were treated by our governments, citizens, and especially Church.

What a novel! I was in tears for the last forty pages, and the characters made a lasting impression. It’s fiction, but reads like a true account of what many experienced before, during and after residential school. I can’t recommend it…

Excellent. Well written by a very good story teller; easy to read. No unnecessary stuff. It is absolutely shocking that the Canadian Government and the Church Leaders stood on the sidelines, as late as the 1980s. Shame! Shame!!

This book really opened my eyes as to what life is like for survivors of residential schools. I'm thankful for the people brave enough to share their stories so that the rest of us can know.

This is an amazing read. It says "fiction" but I am sure there are many survivors who would attest to the trauma they have suffered. So interesting, I finished it in 5 days, could not put it down. Michelle Good is a great story teller.
