The best classical romantic story of all times! Who needs money and luxury to fall in love? Read about the best kind of love that shines through sacrifice and generosity even in the midst of adversity!

This story encourages people to be generous. Della was very kind because she sold her hair which was beyond her knees. This story can be super sad so don't read it to very young kids. I found the story very touching (From Bluefish, age 9).

(from Mom: Great story, but filled with archaic phrasing and challenging vocabulary. Will need an adult to read with the child!)

A Christmas story, about the importance of love and gift giving. The Della and Jim are a young couple whose devotion to each other touches hearts. Their love for each other helps readers to remember the true meaning of the Christmas season.
