I love everything about this book, from the detailed illustrations of the moon landing craft and rocket that launched it, to the text, which communicates a lot of information in a manner almost lyrical. Something about it was oddly relaxing to my preschool age kids, as well--they were engaged, but often fell asleep before it ended. But it's also the kind of children's book that parents might find interesting enough to finish, even after the kids are asleep.

Illustrations are exquisite, not too much text per page, and rhymes that engage a preschooler and an adult.

The story of the flight in which a man set foot on the moon for the first time, told in poetic text with full-color illustrations.

My five-year old sons loved this book. We especially loved the free form verse style of writing. It was a lovely reading experience for the whole family.

My 1.5yr old loves this. We read it a couple of times before we showed her a YouTube video of a shuttle take-off, but she was more interested in the book instead of the video clip. Great illustrations.

My 3 yr. old son loves this book. It makes him want to become an astronaut.
The writer does an amazing job of describing the whole experience to a yound child. He uses a kind of free form poetry.
Brilliant! I just can't praise this book highly enough!
