I was left in the dust when it came to the references. I could barely keep up with who was who and the style was difficult for me to follow at times. However, I enjoyed the actual story and found it fun. Quick read, but would recommend many of his other works before this one.

Super short read. Less than 180 pages. It honestly didn't really stand out, though Palahniuk hit the mores and taboos of the times spot on the head. A fun read if you're into the Sunset Boulevard time period and want to read something that is essentially a more vulgar version of that written from the perspective of a possessive, egotistical life coach-cum-manager where the mail suitor is more homocidal than clueless.
