This is a 110-minute documentary about the history of the ancient & modern Olympic games produced for PBS in 2004.
The film combines lavish reconstructions of the ancient Greek games with dramatic highlights from the modern Olympics to reveal the extraordinary contrasts and unexpected connections between the two greatest sporting events.
Profoundly interesting is that the ancient Olympic made all the wars stop for the games while the wars stopped holding the modern Olympic as in the cases of the 1916 games because of World War I, and the summer and winter games of 1940 and 1944 due to World War II.
It is an amazing and fascinating documentary.
