Joshua certainly didn't want any of this. Going to Port-au-Prince...not exactly how he wanted to spend his winter break, but at least he got to skip school and escape the Canadian frost. But he wouldn't have gone if his father wasn't the pastor of the church, responsible for the group. When he got there, Joshua was shocked at the poverty he saw, and worked hard to help out the orphanage. But he didn't believe that a God existed. After all, if God did exist, would his mother have died? Then, in the middle of it all, Joshua is stuck between one of the greatest diasters of 2009. His friend, Naomi, is diabetic, and must go to the city for her medicine. Phillip, a local Haitian orphan that became close friends with Joshua, tags along as well. They go throught Haiti in fear and shock at the events around them. Finally, they arrive to the Canadian ectasy, where Naomi could get her medicine. During the trip, Joshua found out life in Haiti, and became more compassionate to those around him.
