This book was too slow and depressing for me. I'm not usually brought down by a book of fiction, but I couldn't finish this one.

It was ok. Not much substance and pretty much a standard soap opera..... but a step up from Harlequin ... that's for sure.

I liked it, and enjoyed spending two thick novels with these characters (Firefly Lane and its sequel, Fly Away). More in depth than other books by this author. This one moved more slowly than Firefly Lane, but was more emotionally complex.

The 1st 50 pages synopsis of Firefly Lane after that it does get interesting ...a different spin to this novel...Entertaining

I read and loved Firefly Lane. I was really excited to read the sequel. I was highly disappointed. It didn't have the same flow nor interesting growth in the characters. It was so slow that I couldn't even finish the book and I really tried.

In this follow-up to Firefly Lane, best-friend Tully, daughter Marah and husband Johnny are still messes after the death of Kate. Tully, self-medicating and adrift decides to end it but only puts herself into a coma. Marah quits school and runs away. The story is told from various points of view, bouncing around from the present to flashbacks. You have to pay attention to keep track of where the timeline is. Good book though somewhat formulaic Hannah fare. Life is full of pain but also joy. The point is to live and love while you can. Can't argue with that.

I thought it was a good read for summer.

Did not like this one nearly as much as I like her other novels. I didn't feel I was inside the characters like I usually feel with her writing. And it didn't feel real/true to me. I was definitely disappointed.
