I am not that into fashion, but my sisters are, and they have turned me on to some interesting fashion-centered films. I adored the self-titled profile of the NYT fashion photographer Bill Cunningham, and was fascinated by "The September Issue", which follows the 2007 creation of Vogue's annual authoritative statement on fashion. I have also tuned into some Project Runway episodes so I could join in the fun of live-chatting with them about the competition. "The First Monday in May" is another entertaining foray into the world of wearable art - specifically, the thought and planning behind the 2015 Met Gala. There are gorgeous, breathtaking gowns, the usual-spoiled celebrity cameos, and last-minute event-planning panic. Watch it if you want to enjoy the spectacle of beautifully adorned people in a gorgeous setting and sneak a peek into the world of high-stakes fundraising events.

Great behind-the-scenes doc about the fabulous Met Gala and Costume Institute Exhibit. I think they spent too little time discussing the problematic aspect of the theme ("China Through the Looking Glass" - aka the way Western designers have been, let's say, inspired by China throughout history), especially since the biggest dissenters were actual Chinese people. But that tone-deafness is also part of it, if unintentionally so. If you like interesting, creative, fancy people doing their thing (and if you liked another Anna Wintour doc, "The September Issue"), you'll like this. Also, Justin Bieber makes a very brief appearance and he is an ass the whole time.

A great documentary about the fifth most visited exhibit at the MET. A fascinating view of behind the scenes. Fascinating.

Good documentary about the annual Met celebration of fashion (this time inspired by China) and the gala/red carpet event that kicks it off. If you enjoy fashion documentaries, this is a must-see.

A Chinese-inspired Western fashion exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in 2015. It was a very popular exhibit.
