Twelve Days of Christmas
A Christmas Novel
Large Print - 2016
"Continuing in a festive annual tradition, #1 New York Times bestselling author Debbie Macomber returns with a new original holiday novel full of romance and cheer--and the magical prospect of finding love in even the most guarded hearts. Friendly and bubbly, Julia Padden likes nearly everyone, but her standoffish neighbor, Cain Maddox, presents a particular challenge. No matter how hard she's tried to be nice, Cain rudely rebuffs her at every turn, preferring to keep to himself. But when Julia catches Cain stealing her newspaper from the lobby of their apartment building, that's the last straw. She's going to break through Cain's Scrooge-like exterior the only way she knows how: by killing him with kindness. To track her progress, Julia starts a blog called The Twelve Days of Christmas. Her first attempts to humanize Cain are far from successful. Julia brings him homemade Christmas treats and the disagreeable grinch won't even accept them. Meanwhile, Julie's blog becomes an online sensation, as an astonishing number of people start following her adventures. Julia continues to find ways to express kindness and, little by little, chips away at Cain's gruff fa©ʹade to reveal the caring man underneath. Unbelievably, Julia feels herself falling for Cain--and she suspects that he may be falling for her as well. But as the popularity of her blog continues to grow, Julia must decide if telling Cain the truth about having chronicled their relationship to the rest of the world is worth risking their chance at love"-- Provided by publisher.

Add a CommentDebbie Macomber's short Christmas reads are just so enchanting. Love them!
Entertaining and enjoyable. Perfect for holiday relaxation.
This read like a Hallmark Christmas movie. There was humor, there was love, and all the while Macomber keeps the story light and entertaining. It is predictable like romances tend to be, but still it was a fun Christmas romance. It is both light and entertaining.
I haven't read Debbie Macomber in a long time and this was quite an enjoyable holiday read. Julia meets her surly neighbor Cain and devises a plan to kill him with kindness AND blog about it. She slowly begins to chisel away at this hard exterior when he finds out about the blog and goes ballistic. Will a little holiday magic be enough to save their budding relationship? As a true Pollyanna I have hope in the power of kindness. May we all channel a little Julia this holiday season.
This was a very fun, uplifting holiday tale. The message was beautiful, and the characters were charming. This is one of Debbie's best. The 12 Days of Christmas is rated up there with Call Me Mrs. Miracle. A must read for the Christmas season!
A Debbie Macomber Christmas tradition -- this is a delightfully light, uplifting and entertaining story. Perfect for pouring yourself a big mug of hot chocolate and curling up for an evening or two!
