Add a CommentThis thriller was a wild ride from start to finish. Rachel is a strong female lead, and the plot just gets more intense as the book goes on.
I believe the rights to the book have been bought to make it into a movie, so I think that says enough about the action in the book.
A highly improbable plot, and even more improbable twists and conclusion! Coincidences rarely work. Definitely a C rated novel. I was mad at myself for wasting my time on this tripe when there are so many other novels I could have been enjoying. Ugh!
Good
I think I enjoyed the second half of the book more, but overall it was fast-paced enough to keep me wanting more.
This was a super interesting thriller! Rachel's daughter is kidnapped, and to get her back, she must not only pay a ransom, but kidnap another child.......then convince that child's parents to kidnap someone....and so on. The chain is unending......the book was a riveting, fast read I could barely put down.
Imagine receiving an early morning anonymous phone call telling you your only child has been kidnapped and if you want to see her again you must pay a ransom and kidnap another child and not break the chain. So begins this thrilling book by Adrian McKinty. I could not put it down. Follow Rachel as she becomes part of the chain and jumps into action to rescue her daughter but at what cost to her. Pick up this book and find out about The Chain and the dark web and the secrets Rachel uncovers along the way.
Awesome book. Loved the skill at pulling together the concept of the chain, and the ending when you find out the how & why is great. I read this book in less than 2 days, loved it,
IN reality, this is a pretty unbelievable scenario. But as a page turner, it rates pretty high. The unbelievable part is the children kidnapped never telling anyone what happened. There is no way that could happen. But I still enjoyed the story as a fantasy.
I was a huge fan of this book until the ending. It was engaging and pulled me in right away. Sadly the ending felt rushed and anti-climatic.
Don't break The Chain. If you do, The Chain will come after you. You and your family will die. To keep the chain going and have your child safely returned, you must pay a ransom and kidnap someone else's child. Could you do it? This book has a unique plot that will keep you turning pages till the very end!
