Same formulaic travelogues with comics Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon as guides and entertainers in their other trips , Italy 2014 and Spain 2017. However, too bad that the trip is cut short for a family death which I believe is fictional but a thoughtful series ending bereavement.

Locations:

2019 "The Trip to Greece": Troy (Tevfikiye) Turkey, Assos/Temple of Athena, Ida Blue Adatepe, Lesbos/Syrian refugee camp, amphitheater Epidaurus, Hydra, Diros Caves, Pylos/Ox Belly Bay ...

2017 "The Trip to Spain": Getaria, Basque Country, Cave of Altamira, Hondarribia, Sos del Rey Católico ... La Mancha (Don Quixote country), Sigüenza, Andalusia ...

2014 "The Trip to Italy": Piedmont, Italian Riviera, Camogli, San Fruttuoso, La Cantina, Tuscany, Pisa, Protestant Cemetery/Colosseum/Spanish Steps Rome, Pompeii/Ravello Amalfi,Capri ...

Anyone who's seen and enjoyed any of the previous iterations of these Trip To films will love this one. And anyone who is looking for a 'gut-busting comedy' and doesn't want to see two middle-aged guys bantering, with allusions to films and actors and history and authors, will hate it. OK?

Though these Trip movies are all roughly the same--two buddies travel to a vacationer's paradise, eat great food, and do impressions at each other and gripe about middle age all while seeming like they secretly hate one another--they're never not a joy. The Trip to Greece is the best one since the first one and the most heartfelt to boot.
