"Owen Pick's life is falling apart. In his thirties, a virgin, and living in his aunt's spare bedroom, he has just been suspended from his job as a geography teacher after accusations of sexual misconduct, which he strongly denies. Searching for professional advice online, he is inadvertently sucked into the dark world of incel--involuntary celibate--forums, where he meets the charismatic, mysterious, and sinister Bryn. Across the street from Owen lives the Fours family, headed by mom Cate, a physiotherapist, and dad Roan, a child psychologist. But the Fours family have a bad feeling about their neighbor Owen. He's a bit creepy and their teenaged daughter swears he followed her home from the train station one night. Meanwhile, young Saffyre Maddox spent three years as a patient of Roan Fours. Feeling abandoned when their therapy ends, she searches for other ways to maintain her connection with him, following him in the shadows and learning more than she wanted to know about Roan and his family. Then, on Valentine's night, Saffyre Maddox disappears--and the last person to see her alive is Owen Pick.."-- Provided by publisher.

Sounds like a very readable and fascinating author.

This book was a little different from the page turning suspense that Jewell seems to have in her other books. I stuck with it though, and it was worth it in the end.

I quite enjoyed this Lisa Jewel novel. It kept me reading and guessing. A good read.

The writing kept me engaged, though there were a few quite unbelievable bits. And to be honest, I still don't get the ending, and a quick search of the internet re spoilers shows me I'm not alone in this. Still, I liked the book overall and would recommend.

Not the best book I have read. A little long for my liking and so much detail.

Another page-turner from Lisa Jewell. It's not one of my favorites but I still enjoyed it and tried to guess who was responsible for the attacks and disappearances of several young women.

Another Lisa Jewell page-turner. I liked this one quite a lot, even though I've read some negative reviews. These books aren't stellar pieces of literature in any sense, but they do keep me reading into the wee hours of the night.

Very disappointing. This book reads like it was written for high schoolers.

Good thriller with unusual portrayal of "incel" culture and the powers of pride and redemption.

I enjoyed yet another Lisa Jewell novel. The book is divided in three parts and the chapters alternate among a few characters. Good suspense story and positive character development with a few of the individuals. The story kept me guessing until the end.
