Annie's Mom: Well, only because I've never had a drink.
Annie: You read my journal?!
Brynn: At first, I did not know it was your diary. I thought it was a very sad, handwritten book.
Don: Show me your "love is eternal" face.
[Annie forces a smile]
Don: No. That’s two years. Four years, tops. That is not eternal.
Becca: You are more beautiful then Cinderella! You smell like pine needles, and have a face like sunshine!

Add a SummaryPicked as her best friend's maid of honor, lovelorn and broke Annie looks to bluff her way through the expensive and bizarre rituals with an oddball group of bridesmaids.
Annie (Kristen Wiig), is a maid of honor whose life unravels as she leads her best friend, Lillian (Maya Rudolph), and a group of colorful bridesmaids (Rose Byrne, Melissa McCarthy, Wendi McLendon-Covey and Ellie Kemper) on a wild ride down the road to matrimony. Annie's life is a mess. But when she finds out her lifetime best friend is engaged, she simply must serve as Lillian's maid of honor. Though lovelorn and broke, Annie bluffs her way through the expensive and bizarre rituals. With one chance to get it perfect, she'll show Lillian and her bridesmaids just how far you'll go for someone you love.

Comment
Add a CommentThis is a chick comedy flick with a predictable story line, and a feel-good ending. Not a bad watch. My main problem is the over-acting by the lead actor to portray her in the role of a loser. A tad over-the-top there.
This movie is so funny!!
Very funny. I held off watching for years but this is great. Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy kill me. Everyone is great though. Good writing.
funny movie... PG 13.
This movie is a hilarious movie, it is about Annie, who is a single woman who doesn’t really know what she’s doing with her life. Once she gets to know her best friend Lillian got engaged to be married, she knows that she has no choice but to be the maid of honour, and even though she is not in a good place to fulfill the responsibilities of a maid of honour, she somehow tries to make the best out of she has to offer but also go head to head with Lillian’s other friend Helen who is rich and tries to take over. I would recommend this movie to any age because it is so funny and rather family friendly. Every scene in my opinion made me laugh which lead me to rate this movie a 5 out of 5. @movieslayer123 of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library
Such an amazing comedy, you'll absolutely love it.
For sure in my top 5 comedies of all time, and likely top 3. I am a white male, 44 years old. Wiig is the best female comic of all time, followed by Mo Collins. I've seen Bridesmaids probably 15 times; is one of my go-to for laughs when I'm bored or down. Absolute genius!!! And definitely not too long (for the poo-pooers).
When Judd Apatow is involved (here as a producer), there's a very good chance the movie will be overly long. This is true of Bridesmaids, but fortunately the movie is also funny, sweet and even relatable--more likely for women than for men. I like the cast, characters and relationships a lot, and I've enjoyed the movie more with each viewing. Some of the humor is lowbrow/crude, so if you can't stand that, it is probably best to skip it.
The airplane scene in this movie is in my top 10 comedy-movie moments. Wiig is perfect. Rebel Wilson is amazing. McCarthy is excellent. So much goodness here.
I give this movie a rating of zero out of a possible ten points, zero stars out of five and two thumbs down.
