This Fraction run on Hawkeye has been a big critical success, and for all the right reasons: witty, up-to-date writing that steers just shy enough of self-parody for comfort, and gloriously minimalistic art that helps it stand out from the crowd. This volume though just did not reach the same heights as the previous two. I like Kate Bishop as a sassy, up-and-coming hero, BUUUUT there was just too much of her just eking by and getting beaten to a pulp for me this time 'round. And, as in the previous volumes, for a comic based on an archer...there weren't all that many arrows fired, were there? Also, why'd she have to steal Clint's dog if she was just going to wind up adopting some manky cat?
